Core Areas
After signing in, five sections drive everything:
- Dashboard — keeps you oriented with recent activity, storage, and credits at a glance.
- Videos — where your video files enter the platform and get put to work.
- Images — handles text extraction from images, for single files or entire batches.
- Subtitles — your full editing, translation, and delivery hub.
- Power Sessions — unlocks the platform’s more advanced capabilities beyond the free tier.
Working With Videos
Videos are the natural starting point for most work. Upload files directly or pull in content via direct link — individually or in bulk.
Once your video is in the library, subtitle extraction turns it into properly timed subtitles. There are two modes to match your source material:
- Text Recognition — for videos with burnt-in on-screen subtitles. Just draw a box around the subtitle region and extraction focuses on the right part of the screen.
- Audio Recognition — for spoken dialogue. No visual setup required, just point it at your video and let it run.
Need plain text instead of subtitles? Transcription captures speech as a clean, downloadable text file — no timing, no formatting, just the words.
Working With Subtitles
Already have subtitle files? You can skip extraction entirely. The subtitles library accepts uploads and direct imports, one file or a hundred, so you can jump straight into editing, translating, or delivering content you’ve already produced elsewhere.
Images and Text Extraction
Upload or import images and SonixLex gets to work pulling out any text inside them. But it doesn’t stop at extraction — once the text is out, you can:
- Translate it into another language.
- Normalize it into a cleaner, more readable version.
- Explain it, letting the platform break it down for you.
It’s a meaningfully more capable workflow than simple text extraction.
Translation
Translation is woven throughout the platform, not bolted on as an afterthought. For subtitles, it can be triggered on a single file or rolled out across an entire library in batch.
You stay in control of every setting — provider, model, target language, source language, and any additional context — before the job begins. The same approach applies to text extracted from images, giving you consistent, configurable output wherever you need it.
Background Processing
SonixLex is built for real production volume, which means almost everything runs in the background. Extraction, translation, and transcription all continue without requiring you to stay on the page.
You can track progress in a few ways:
- The Dashboard activity feed gives you a live overview of everything running.
- Status badges on individual videos, images, and subtitle files show where each job stands.
- Detail pages update in real time as processing continues.
Start a job, move on, and come back when it’s done.
Final Note
Most media workflows are fragmented — one tool to extract, another to translate, another to edit, another to deliver. SonixLex collapses that stack into a single platform without sacrificing flexibility at any stage. Every workflow, whether it starts with a video file or a folder of subtitle files, follows the same coherent logic from intake to final output. That’s what makes it genuinely faster to work with at scale.
